LTZC delivers high-temperature, high-load 5000mm slewing bearings.

Recently, LTZC bearings successfully developed and delivered an ultra-large diameter slewing bearing with an outer diameter of 5000 millimeters, which will be used in the core rotating components of heavy equipment exported overseas. This breakthrough marks a significant advancement for my country in the field of high-end special bearing manufacturing.

As the rotating joint of heavy machinery, large-size slewing bearings are crucial to the operating efficiency of the equipment.  Factors such as load capacity, lifespan, and stability of the slewing bearing are vital to the operation of the equipment. They are widely used in port equipment, mining machinery, offshore wind power, metallurgical equipment, and other fields. The 5000 mm outer diameter special bearing developed this time faced multiple technical challenges, including extremely large size, stringent precision requirements, extremely high load capacity, continuous high temperature, strong corrosive environments, and complex working conditions. The R&D team overcame a series of core problems through multiple rounds of technical research.

As this bearing will be applied to large structural components, it needs to achieve long-term stable rotational operation in continuous high-temperature, high-load, and complex corrosive environments, which presents extremely high technical challenges. LTZC bearings established a dedicated team to conduct systematic research and development from materials and design to manufacturing processes. During the R&D process, the LTZC technical team addressed issues such as internal defects and uneven structure commonly found in ultra-large bearing forgings by adopting customized forging and heat treatment processes to optimize the metal grain structure, significantly improving the strength and toughness of the bearing base material;

By introducing high-precision CNC machining equipment and intelligent detection systems, high precision of the gear surface and raceway is achieved, enabling micron-level precision control of key parts such as the bearing raceway and rolling elements. This optimizes the load distribution and ensures the rotational accuracy and compatibility of the bearing;

Special wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coating materials, such as nickel-based alloy coatings and polyurethane (PU) coatings, were developed to effectively resist environmental influences such as dust, humidity, and temperature differences in complex overseas working conditions, extending the bearing's service life. If customers have special requirements, LTZC can provide professional advice and customized anti-corrosion coatings to minimize wear and corrosion during the operation of the slewing bearing.

LTZC achieves breakthrough in precision manufacturing technology.

The slewing ring underwent full-condition simulation testing before leaving the factory. To ensure product reliability, the R&D team conducted over 2,000 hours of simulated working condition and accelerated durability testing.  The slewing bearing was continuously tested on a test platform under 1.2 times its rated load. During the test, the bearing operated stably under combined loads of a maximum axial load of 8,000 kN, a radial load of 3,500 kN, and an overturning moment of 120,000 kN·m, with rotational speeds covering the actual operating range of 0.1–6 r/min.

Monitoring data showed that the vibration peak value remained below the ISO 10816 standard limit throughout the bearing's operation, the rotational resistance torque fluctuation range was less than ±5%, and the temperature rise in the raceway and rolling element contact area was stable, with the maximum temperature not exceeding 62°C. Through periodic disassembly and non-destructive testing, no abnormal spalling or fatigue cracks were found on the raceway surface, and the wear amount in critical areas was controlled within 0.02 mm. Based on accelerated life testing and calculations, the bearing's designed fatigue life can reach over 20,000 hours. All performance indicators meet and in some cases exceed the advanced levels of similar international products, fully meeting the stringent usage standards for exported heavy equipment.
