What is a slewing gear?
Slewing gears are used to transmit kinetic energy. They typically mesh with slewing bearings and slewing drive gears to form a transmission system. Transmission gears are fundamental components in machinery for transmitting power, changing speed and direction. Through the meshing of gears, the power of a motor or engine is transmitted to the working parts, enabling equipment operation. They are widely used in various transmission systems such as speed reducers, construction machinery, automobiles, and machine tools.
Common types of transmission gears:
Spur gears: Used for transmission between two parallel shafts; most common.
Helical gears: Smoother and have a higher load capacity than spur gears.
Herringbone gears: Suitable for heavy-duty, high-power transmissions.
Bevel gears: Used for transmission between two intersecting shafts.
Worm gears: Used for spatially perpendicular intersecting shafts; high reduction ratio and self-locking.
Rack and pinion gears: Convert rotary motion into linear motion.
